Banyan Tree Tai Hei Restaurant

The restaurant existed before, but didn’t have any identification feature, and because of it’s location was more of a passage than a destination. The design challenge was to bring specific Japanese identification items while keeping a light touch that wouldn’t disturb the daily flow of the area.

The restaurant is divided in two wings, either on side of the pool. Wooden stools at the bar reminds the symbol of Pi, as an invitation to infinity, when the restaurant is provided with simple though elegant Japanese simplicity and modesty.
